25 November, 2013
Perry Scott Nash join the Acoura Group enabling end-to-end coverage of the food supply chain.
New investment, by Acoura, into Perry Scott Nash Ltd (PSN) looks set to pave the way for the group to provide a full range of risk services across the entire breadth of the food supply chain.
Acoura was established in 2011, supported by Canter Equity Partners, to build a market leading provider of risk management, certification, training, inspection and advisory services covering everything from farms to food processors, retail outlets and food service businesses.
Based in Stevenage, PSN is one of the UK's leading providers of risk management solutions to the food services sector. Over 40% of the food that passes through the UK supply chain is sold via the food service sector which includes hospitals, schools, hotels, pubs and restaurants.
PSN will join Acoura's existing divisions FCI (fisheries) and SFQC (agriculture and food processing) at a time where the sector faces growing demands for greater transparency and traceability as well as changes to its regulatory framework.
Paul Egan, Chairman of Acoura, said:
"I am delighted that PSN has decided to join the Acoura Group. This partnership will allow our business to offer a truly end-to-end capability to our customers who operate across the food supply chain.
"This transaction comes at a time when the Acoura Group is investing heavily in developing new services and data solutions which will help customers better manage compliance and the risks inherent within their business.
"PSN was a natural fit for Acoura, with a shared cultural ethos and focus on delivering excellence in customer service. I am also extremely pleased that founder and Chairman Pat Perry will be continuing in post and joining the Acoura Board to help us drive the business forward.
"The move also comes at a particularly exciting time for us. This has been evidenced by the Group's recent contract win to provide assurance services to Arla Foods, the UK's number one dairy company. This service is underpinned by Acoura's new digital solutions combined with real food supply chain expertise."
Pat Perry, Chairman of PSN, said:
"I am excited about the opportunities PSN will have as part of the Acoura Group. We will be able to offer our clients a wide range of services and greater expertise and technological support.
"The compliance agenda is changing and the Acoura Group will be in prime position to advise and support businesses in achieving regulatory compliance.
"PSN will be an important part of the Acoura Group and I am delighted that PSN's future has been secured and that I can continue to do what I love - helping clients understand the regulations that affect their business."
